They open up with another riff on the Rat Race morning radio spoof podcast. Rory had just gotten back from San Diego ComicCon. Rory wants to rally the pennies and pallers to get him a role in a Marvel movie. A paller, Diana, made a calendar and sent a copy to the guys, and it has quotes from episodes “The Wisdom of Dan and Rory,” and also includes some National Days. Finally, before going to the letters, they mention that Rory had dinner with Dave Jacoby and that they want to make the Mardi Gras thing an annual live Pen Pals. They “jaunt” to the letters, and Rory talks about DVK’s Stephen King hat and get in a reference to DVK being a gravedigger, also in Jack Philips voice. The first letter comes from a penny who is moving to Chicago to attend the Chicago School of the Performing Arts, which is where DVK went to school, and then they start to wonder if they are being played, and Rory jokes that the letters following down the margin spell out King Ponters (from the 11/14/2018 episode “The Groom’s Perspective & Conspiracy Theories“). They are still trying to figure out the Spotify playlist. DVK gives the penny advice on how to get around in Chicago, and says that you really only need to know 5 streets, which gives us the hashtag #dansFive #dansFiveStreets. Talking about Chicago also gives them both plenty of opportunity to do a Jack Philips voice.
